🗺️ Synopsis

The laid-back, scenic, and traditional state of Terengganu was the only one of Malaysia’s 13 states that director Amir Muhammad had never visited.

So in December 2015, he travelled there for the first time and created a reflective travelogue — quoting from an 1838 book by Munshi Abdullah (the father of Malay journalism), whose sharp observations about Terengganu’s people are woven together with modern-day conversations with local men.

Co-directed by Badrul Hisham Ismail, a proud Terengganu native.
