Note - minor update to the AGM Notice and Agenda has been made (13-07-2026) and the amended version is available below.
2026 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
To all BMS Members,
This is a reminder to all BMS members about the upcoming AGM on 16 July. This is a particularly important AGM and we need as many members as possible to attend. There are going to be many changes this year as both the President, Sir Mark Moody-Stuart, and Chair, Mei Sim Lai OBE DL, are stepping down after very long and distinguished terms. In addition, the current Hon Secretary, Andrew Counihan, is also stepping down from the ExCo after several years of service to BMS.
We have more than one nomination for the positions of:
Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Secretary, International Trade & Investment Group Lead, Events Group Lead (a new position), and for Marketing & Communications Group Lead (which has been vacant for some time).
Accordingly, we will be asking those members attending the AGM to vote for their preferred choice on the day. There is no option for voting by proxy and voting is only in-person this year. Non-members are welcome to attend the AGM but are not permitted to participate in any aspect of the voting process.
Please download the important notices:

Members and guests are also invited to attend the Presidents Reception held at the same venue immediately after the AGM. We need numbers soon in order to arrange the catering, so if you haven't already booked and wish to attend, then please book as soon as possible.
